In any case, we are photographing a world in which the real subject, the living subject, has almost as radically disappeared as the human being in primitive societies. So why not simply photograph objects, where at least the disappearance of the human being is clear, and where in a way the human being exists much better as long as it is only alluded to transparently? For some time to come, the object will be the living place where the subject disappears. Jean Baudrillard. America
